February is the shortest month of the year, but for me, at least, it’s felt like it’s taking forever. As I’ve mentioned, we’re in the process of selling our house and purchasing an RV, which should have moved forward by leaps and bounds last week. Thursday, we signed the closing documents and overnighted them to the attorney to facilitate the closing on Friday. Since we only have two weeks from the date of closing to get all our belongings sorted/packed/downsized/stored, we definitely needed to get a move on as soon as the closing was funded.
Today is Friday and guess who STILL doesn’t have closing funds?
To say I’m livid is an understatement. I understand things take time and shit happens, but this, as I’ve learned for sure today, was a clusterfuck of epic proportions, all compliments of the attorney’s office. No one talks to one another, and apparently they don’t read either. They could have easily handled everything electronically on Monday at the latest, and fund our closing, however, they chose to mail everything to the Register of Deed’s office, and manage to screw that up as well.
Suffice it to say, I may or may not have shown my ass today and sent instructions to the lawyer’s office that I found quite easily by simply visiting the Deed Office website. My hope is, they’re tired of dealing with me and will do whatever necessary to make this happen ASAP.
The buyer will likely be a little salty once he realizes I have zero plans to start our two week process of getting out until the day I receive the money in my account. We’ve been put off for a week, without the ability to obtain the RV or storage facility. I’m not rushing because someone else screwed up.
With that said, I have done a lot of work here in an attempt to get things done in a timely manner, which has cut into my writing time significantly this month. My hope is, after we’re settled in our new nomadic home, I’ll be able to get organized again and start publishing more frequently. If there’s anything you’d like to read about, don’t hesitate to reach out via email.
Here’s what I’ve published in February so far:
The Valentine’s Day Sex Toy Guide For Beginners and Experts—Don’t let the title fool you, this comprehensive guide is for any time of the year! If you’re in the market for a new sex toy, or your first toy, check out my recommendations.
Evan Rachel Wood Spoke Up to Heal Herself and Help Others—It’s not often I write about things unrelated to sex and relationships, and being honest, this falls into both categories as well. It’s just not my usual fare of feel good stuff, but it’s important.
Taking the Lead in the Bedroom is The Best Thing I’ve Ever Done—Your mileage may vary, but for my relationship, this has been a game changer.
Here’s Why Self-Care is Not Selfish—This one is for all the folks out there who’ve been told that taking care of themselves is selfish. Trust me, it isn’t.
How Modern Marriage Advice is Steeped in White Supremacy—This is another important, yet controversial topic, but it needs to be addressed and understood. Once we realize where our ‘typical’ advice is coming from, we can work to change it.
How We Are Raised is Connected to How We Experience Pleasure—If you were lucky enough to be raised by open-minded parents, that’s amazing. Sadly, most of us were not, and talk of sex was hushed or swept under the rug. And don’t get me started on our sex education in schools. It’s laughable.
I hope this finds you all well and satisfied! Until March, xoxo, Demeter.
