May is for Masturbation, Mother's Day, and Relationships
So let's celebrate with some education, tips, and tricks.
That tub looks glorious. Soaking in a tub, full of bubbles, is one of my favorite forms of self-care. I won’t lie, I usually indulge in my other favorite kind of self-care while I’m in there—masturbation. If you’ve followed me for a bit, you know I have been living in an RV for almost 2 years now, so I no longer have a bathtub. Whenever I have the chance to soak, I’m not turning it down.
May is known in sexuality circles as Masturbation May, so I’ve decided to spend every day this month indulging in my favorite pastime. I’m also writing about it, a lot, in an effort to normalize it, destigmatize it, and educate others any way I can.
So far, here are the stories I’ve published if you’re interested in what I’ve had to say:
How Mutual Masturbation Can Spice Up Your Sex Life Right Now
What Do You Do When Masturbation Has Lost It’s Fun?
Is Masturbation The Best Form of Self Care?
This piece isn’t about masturbation, but discusses how self care is often mistaken for being selfish. It isn’t.
There’s a Huge Difference Between Being Selfish and Taking Care of Yourself
All these links are friend links, so even if you’re not a member over on Medium, you can read them beyond the 3 stories afforded non-members. However, if you’re not a member, consider joining with my link, would you? It doesn’t cost you anything more, and grants me a small commission.
If you want to head over to where all my masturbation stories live (not just the ones I’ve published this month) I curated a reading list of everything I’ve published so far on this topic under Masturbation Tips.
If you weren’t already aware, I also publish my husband’s stories on Medium. I would love if you’d give him a follow there and check out his stories. You can find his profile here under Damian Delune, where we educate folks about mass incarceration, what life is like on the inside of prisons, from real people, not what the system wants you to know.
I’ll be back next weekend with more stories to share, including some special poetry for Mother’s Day, and an interview with the creator of the Rosy app. We talked about a survey they conducted with 1000 men and women about their sex lives and some of the results were truly surprising, even to me!
Until then, indulge in some self-care, however that looks and be sure to feel lots of pleasure.
If you feel inclined, tips are always welcomed. You can do that here and here
xoxo, Demi
